Description of Practice

Evolutionary Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (ECBT)
Fields of study which focus on, understand and apply evolutionary law are seeing significant and often dramatic results in their research efforts. This is especially true in evolutionary psychology, where new science-based tools and approaches are emerging quickly and showing results that are faster and more lasting.
One of these evolutionists is Dr. John F. Demartini, the founder of the Demartini Institute and creator of the Demartini Method™. This is a science-based approach to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy that is based on evolutionary law and its underlying principles. It is especially effective with trauma. The Demartini Method™ is the primary approach of The Pierce Institute of Psychology Inc.

Additional Information

Evolutionary Cognitive Behaviour Therapy: One of the most fundamental and globally accepted laws in nature is the law of evolution, which states that all living organisms are thought to have been developing and diversifying from earlier forms during the history of the Earth. This includes the human body, human brain and human mind.

As a result, as we study evolution in action today, we find it to be present in every aspect of the natural world, including the human mind. This has resulted in many sciences now having a branch devoted exclusively to the evidence of evolutionary law in action. The list includes: anthropology, astronomy, biology, botany, chemistry, cosmology, epigenetics, geology, physics, psychiatry and psychology.

The list of evolutionists is extensive and includes such notables as Cosmides, Buss, Durac, Einstein, Feynman, Gould, Greene, Hamilton, Hesse, Lederman, McGuire, Ness, Pinker, Rovelli, Sacks, Stevens, Suzuki, Tooby, Wilson, and many others. And, in psychology: Darwin, Dawkins, Demartini, Glasser, James, Pinker, Sacks, to name a few.

Fields of study which focus on, understand and apply evolutionary law are seeing significant and often dramatic results in their research efforts. This is especially true in evolutionary psychology, where new science-based tools and approaches are emerging quickly and showing results that are faster and more lasting.
