Description of Practice
I am a registered psychologist with over 20 years of experience. My work has focused on supporting individuals living with cancer, chronic illness, and the emotional impact of significant life transitions. I hold an academic appointment with the Faculty of Medicine in the Department of Oncology at the University of Alberta, which reflects my ongoing involvement in teaching and advancing psychosocial care in medical settings.
I have extensive experience working with grief and loss, changes in identity and relationships, and the complexities that can accompany illness. I also work in the areas of sexual health, LGBTQ+ affirming care, and mood and anxiety concerns.
My approach is grounded, thoughtful, and relational. I pay close attention to emotional experience and to how people make sense of what they are going through, with the goal of helping clients feel more understood and better able to navigate what they are facing.
I am registered to practice in Prince Edward Island and provide virtual services from Edmonton. For many, working with a psychologist who is connected to—but not embedded within—the local community offers an added sense of privacy and ease.
